Parenthood (DVD)

Parenthood (1989) starring Steve Martin and a great supporting cast. This is a funny and affecting movie about the drama and the humor of raising kids. It's really worth seeing. Grade: B

Inside Man (DVD)

Inside Man (2006) starring Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster. Not terribly exciting heist flick. Washington plays a negotiator, Owen is the chief bank robber, and Foster is a free agent brought in for no obvious reason. The script could have used a little work. Grade: C+

Eight Below (DVD)

Eight Below (2006). Starring eight dogs and a cast of unknown humans. Weather conditions force a scientific team to leave behind a team of eight sled dogs in the Antarctic. This movie tells the story of how the dogs, or most of them, miraculously survive. There are several moments which stretch the credulity of the viewer. Grade: B-
